Noël 2016 marque le premier que je n'ai pas passé avec ma famille. J'ai 23 ans, j'en passerais bien d'autres par la suite (même si le traditionnel repas de noël a bien fait défaut ...)
Loin des paillettes et des habituelles tenues festives je l'ai passé en sweater gris et jean emmitouflé dans une écharpe car je ne voulais pas emmener mon manteau dans mon backpack.

Christmas 2016 was the first I did not spent with my family. I am 23 years old, I would spend many others thereafter (even if I really missed the traditional Christmas meal ...)
Far from the glitter and the usual festive outfits I celebrated it in gray sweater and jeans wrapped in a scarf because I did not want to take my coat in my backpack.

Avec les filles on avait décidé de se retrouver à Osaka avant de partir au Vietnam, Julia vivant de l'autre côté du Japon, on faisait toutes un bout de chemin (je l'ai bien regretté au retour) ...
Mon bus de nuit est arrivé le 24 vers 8h du matin à Umeda et j'ai attendu (plusieurs heures) que le bus de Julia arrive. Au chaud dans la gare, mon fil facebook était remplis de "I'm home" etc. Et de départ en voyage. Sans comprendre pourquoi plusieurs de mes amis se retrouvaient aussi à Osaka pour les fêtes- mais pourquoi ?!. Osaka est loin d'être THE place to be pour noël. Ca m'a quand même donné l'occasion de revoir Adrien, un pote rencontré à Montréal 3 ans plus tôt et qui vit maintenant en Chine.

With the girls we decided to meet in Osaka before going to Vietnam, Julia living on the other side of Japan, we all traveled a bit (I regretted it later on )...
My night bus arrived on the 24th at 8am in Umeda and I waited (several hours) for Julia's bus to arrive. Warm in the station, my facebook wire was filled with "I'm home" etc. and travel posts. Not understanding why many of my friends were also in Osaka for the holidays - serioulsy why ?! Osaka is far from being THE place to be for Christmas. It still gave me the opportunity to see Adrien, a friend met in Montreal 3 years ago who now lives in China.



Avec Julia et Maya, on avait loué un AirBnb pour nos 2 nuits à Osaka. Julia avait même réussit à ramener une bouteille de rosé de Californie ! On devait retrouvé Adrien au Marché de Noël d'Umeda, mais avec le système de train incompréhensible d'Osaka et la foule compacte japonaise, on est arrivé super en retard ... On a passé noël dans un izakaya - repas très typique - et on a finit la soirée dans un bar gay en sous sol. Pas forcément le noël idyllique mais je l'ai passé bien entourée ♥

With Julia and Maya, we rented an AirBnb for our 2 nights stay in Osaka. Julia had even managed to bring back a bottle of California rosé! We had to meet Adrien at the Umeda Christmas Market, but confused by the train system in Osaka and the compact Japanese crowd, we arrived super late ... We spent Christmas in an izakaya - a very typical meal - and we finished partying at a gay bar in the basement of a dark street. Not necessarily the idyllic christmas but I spent it well surrounded and it was all the more fun ♥




Le lendemain on a simplement profité d'Osaka avec Maya pendant que Julia allait voir sa famille japonaise et on s'est préparé pour le départ à Ho Chi Minh le lendemain.

The next day we just enjoyed Osaka with Maya while Julia went to see her Japanese family and then we prepared for departure to Ho Chi Minh the next day.
